We recognize that individuals will use the full spectrum of medicine from care for acute illnesses and injuries to care for chronic problems and diseases to prevention and optimal health. We are dedicated to providing care and referrals to other health care practitioners to meet the unique health and mental health needs of individuals who have chosen us to be partners in their health care solutions.
 Primary Care
Family medicine MDs treat most medical conditions. Dr. Smoots provides primary care for acute and chronic ailments, offers preventative advice, educates patients about their health conditions, and refers patients to specialists as needed.
Naturopathic physicians are licensed primary health care providers trained as general family practitioners. As a Primary Care Practitioner, Dr. Fitzpatrick provides general health care for both acute and chronic conditions, plus preventative medicine education, advice, and support. She refers to specialists as needed.
Women’s Health Care and Gynecology
Women’s health focuses on the unique issues of women from puberty into and through menopause. Hormonal transitions are times of change both hormonally and psychologically and we support you in easing into these times of change. Some other areas of expertise include PMS, menstrual disorders, abnormal paps, endometriosis, vaginal infections, amenorrhea, fibrocystic breasts, genital herpes, menstrual cramps, pelvic inflammatory disease, osteoporosis, hypertension, breast cancer prevention, arthritis, immune dysfunction, cardiovascular disease and digestive disorders. We provide well woman exams, annual pap smears and clinical breast exams.
Naturopathic Pain Management
Chronic pain may result from injuries, long term illnesses, fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, multiple sclerosis, cancer and inflammatory diseases. Some consequences of chronic pain include insomnia, depression, anxiety, loss of appetite or overeating, and difficulty with day to day functioning. Treatment is comprehensive and individually tailored to meet your unique needs with the goal of increased functioning and well being. Services include a comprehensive evaluation, Microcurrent Electrical Therapy, Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation, Medical Hypnotherapy and Emotional Transformation Therapy.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a state of consciousness that an individual enters through a deep state of relaxation. Breathing and heart rate slow and the individual has access to the deep inner healer. Hypnotherapy helps individuals discover the origins and motivations for thinking and behavior and uses that information to reprogram the mind with the patient’s desired goals and beliefs. Transpersonal hypnotherapy is designed to be a series of journeys to help you attain what you want in your life. Medical hypnotherapy is available to decrease troublesome symptoms and increase comfort. Hypnotherapy can be used to trigger the relaxation response, restore sleep, relieve pain, prevent migraine headaches, overcome anxiety and depression, improve concentration, stop smoking, manage weight and enjoy a stress free, comfortable method of birthing through sessions with your birthing companion.
Complementary Cancer Care
We will work with your oncologists, surgeons, and team of health care providers to provide nutritional support, lifestyle strategies, botanical medicine, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and homeopathy. As a primary care provider, Dr. Fitzpatrick will help you understand your test results, support you during treatment and provide personalized care to empower you to make lifestyle changes and create physiological and emotional balance following your chosen treatment.
Naturopathic and Conventional Psychiatry
Psychological issues affect the mind, body and soul. We provide a comprehensive evaluation including adequate vitamin levels, endocrine functioning, complete psychological evaluation and an assessment of which neurotransmitters are affected by the individual’s unique experience. A recommendation is made including medications, supplements, amino acids or botanical medicines most appropriate to the individual’s needs and choice. Close medication management and interactions is a significant aspect of the care offered. We are committed to easing the discomfort such that the individual can then get the psychological and spiritual support needed to heal. We offer individual, couples and family therapy. Individual therapy may include hypnotherapy, light therapy and alpha stim treatments.
Emotional Transformation Therapy
Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) is a form of energy medicine using light, color and peripheral eye stimulation to change old stuck emotions, thoughts, behaviors or states of pain to a healthier, desirable, more empowered experience. Color serves as a catalyst to draw forth both emotional and physical responses. The therapist attunes to the client and selects colors that match the moment to moment state of mind. When this match occurs, there is a profound emotional shift. At other times one layer of emotion is cleared and another layer surfaces. This sequence may continue until the individual returns to the original neutral state that existed before the trauma or conditioning occurred. It is often the case that a desired experience such as calm, peace, relaxation, fills the space of the released emotion. ETT was developed by Steven Vazquez, PhD, who practices in Dallas Texas.
Minor Office Surgery
In-office procedures include suture removal, laceration repair, biopsies, removal of benign and pre-malignant growths, mole excision, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, skin tag removal, cryotherapy (freezing) of warts and other skin conditions, foot care, hemorrhoid care, treatment of musculoskeletal problems, and ear wax removal.
